1st visit to Nana and Poppy's house

Ryan and Kate turned 6 weeks old yesterday (1-5-10). So far the new year has brought many "firsts" for our little family, including 1st time to church, 1st time out of Stillwater, and 1st time to Nana and Poppy's house.

On the first Sunday of 2010, we took Ryan and Kate to church. This was no simple outing (I don't think we will ever have one again!) as church starts at 9:30 and we all 4 had to get dressed and ready to go. Fortunately Grammy and Jordy were able to come over early (with Aspen - bless you!) and help us get ready to roll. It was a whirlwind of tights and hats, and then we were out the door and arrived with 2 minutes to spare! Ryan and Kate id really well, sleeping through pretty much the whole service, which mommy and daddy were very happy about.

Monday, I had an appointment to go see Dr K in OKC, so we took the opportunity to take Kate and Ryan with us to visit with Dr K and Trish and Nancy (Dr K's nurses). Again, the babies did great in the car and the office, catching some z's. While we were in the area, we couldn't resist going to the mall as well as Babies-R-us. This was also our first time out with the double stroller, and after some practice, daddy wasn't doing half bad. Kate so much enjoyed her first shopping trip that she cried when we had to leave (or I guess it could have been getting strapped back into her car seat). All in all, it was a successful trip I would say.
