Chillin' like a villain

We just finished our 28th week this week, and needless to say we are getting bigger. We had an ultrasound on Wed and are happy to report that everything is looking good. Kate and Ryan are about 2 1/2 lbs each (Ryan is a bit bigger) and are moving around like little wiggle worms on a regular basis. They are getting so big in fact that the tech had to stop the ultrasound not once, but twice, so that I could sit up because I was getting light-headed. Apparently the twins now weigh enough that they can cut off circulation to my brain, thus making mommy light-headed. Once I could lay on my side, we were good to go. And in apparently other useful tips, my big ol' belly now also serves as a good pillow during chill time, as demonstrated by cousin Cori.

Baby blessings

The hostesses : Aunt Bev, Laura, me, Amanda, and Jaime

Today we had a beautiful shower hosted by our Braly/Bell family. The theme was 2 peas in a pod. We had a delicious brunch and the cutest cake. Everyone was so very generous in giving us many gifts that we will need for the babies. My cousin's twins got to come as well, which is fun for us to see how they are growing and imagine how our own boy and girl will be someday. Putting all of their little baby stuff away in their room makes everything seem more real as we continue to wait for our precious Kate and Ryan to join us. And this just in, my belly is now 12 squares of toilet paper round. So now each of you living far away who haven't got to see can go in your bathroom to get a better idea of how big we are.

Truly thankful

Today we were blessed by the ladies of Hillcrest, who hosted for us a very nice shower. I am really thankful for the Bible believing women of our church who not only brought many beautiful gifts and yummy treats, but also spent time praying over the 4 of us. What a wonderful blessing to be a part of a loving fellowship that truly cares for us and are so genuinely excited for the birth of Kate and Ryan. I am truly thankful for these sisters in Christ and their out pouring of love and support. It is kind of a full circle moment to realize that my mom had her own baby shower, when pregnant with me, in the room right across the hall from where we celebrated today. It gives new meaning to the idea of a heritage of faith. What a special day!

getting bigger/feeling great

A few people (who shall remain nameless, of course) have been regularly requesting to see more belly pics. So here you go! These pics are from 24 weeks (this coming Tuesday is 27 weeks). We are getting bigger, but feeling great, which is a huge blessing. We still have about 10 weeks to go, which is a bit of a daunting thought considering I can't see my toes any longer! My mom tells me that I look about as big now (if not bigger) than she did when she was full term with me. So we shall see what the future holds for the 3 of us.

Showered with love

Matt's family had a shower for us a few weeks ago. It was so much fun to celebrate with them the amazing little blessings that will soon be joining us in November. The theme was "twinkle twinkle little stars" which I thought was very clever. Many frineds and family came to celebrate with us at Matt's parent's house and brought some very beautiful gifts. Needless to say, we are very blessed to have such wonderful people in our corner. Everyone promises to come and rock babies with us...we'll see how they're feeling when we call for the 3 a.m shift!
