time to hit the road...

 Last week we took a little trip to Stillwater and Edmond while Matt went to training in OKC.  It was a quick trip, but we never turn down a chance to see our grandparents!!!  It was SUPER hot out, so we went swimming in mom mom's little pool both days we were there.

 On Wednesday, we went to the Oklahoma Science Museum with Nana.  We took Ryan and Kate there with my family when they were about 7 months old, but we hadn't been back since.  This trip was definitely more active for them than the last.  Their favorite activities were riding the Segways and playing on the giant tree house.  This was a great way to spend another hot day indoors - SO glad we got to do it!

This picture really made me laugh because we took the same one when they were just 7 months old...time flies when you're having fun!!!

Branson 2013!!!

Another summer trip to Branson has come and gone (my 11th trip to be exact) and boy was it a great one!!! We started off our trip with a surprise 40th anniversary party for my in-laws, Kenneth and Dana.  They were totally surprised and I think they really enjoyed it!  It was a team effort and I was so pleased with how it all came together.  We had such fun that we decided to leave the decorations up all week long.

The Avengers showed up - which was pretty cool.  Ryan spent the entire trip dressing up - thanks for sharing your costumes Hayward boys!  And in case you are wondering, Ryan is supposed to be the Hulk here.

Matt and I took Kate and Ryan on their first "Ride the Ducks" tour (my first too!) and that was fun.  They opened at 9 and we were on the 9:30 ride so it wasn't horribly hot.  The Ducks are former military vehicles that drive on land and run in water, so you get to see views of Branson and Table Rock Lake.  The kids each got to take a turn driving out on the water, which they really enjoyed.

We also went to kiddie park and rode some rides and drove golf carts.  What a great family vacation - see ya next year Branson!!!
