It seems hard to believe that Kate and Ryan will be 8 weeks old tomorrow (1-19-10)! Matt and I were talking about how everything from the day they were born until Christmas is pretty much a blur, so the 8 week mark has snuck up on us pretty quickly.

So, what's new at our house you ask? Let' see; both Kate and Ryan now enjoy smiling and cooing at us regularly. They can track us as we walk across the room, are trying desperately hard to hold up their little heads, and seem to enjoy watching some TV as well. This weekend we had many "firsts" for the babies as well. They spent their first night away from home when we went to Nana and Poppy's house in Edmond. I was a little nervous about how they would do, but I am happy to report that they slept great and had a really nice visit. This also afforded Matt and I the opportunity to go out and eat at a restaurant, which we had not done by ourselves since before they were born. Sunday we took our first trip to Blackwell so that Ryan and Kate could meet their great grandparents, my Grandpa and Grandma Braly. Again, they did great in the car and had a nice visit. Today, Matt and I decided it was time to attempt taking them out to a restaurant for the first time. We decided McAlister's would be a good choice since the food doesn't take too long and we could easily grab a to-go box if things got out of hand. It turns out we were worried for no reason because lunch was very nice and the babies enjoyed a great little nap in their car seats. We came home and since it was such a beautiful day of 60 degrees and sunshine, we put on our jackets and sat out back on our deck for the first time. What a lovely weekend!
