wild weekend

 2 weeks ago, Matt had meetings to go to in Norman, so we hitched a ride with him and spent a couple of days with Nana and Poppy in Edmond.  On Thursday, Nana and I decided to take Ryan and Kate to the outlet mall on I-40.  I had never been over there, so I was looking forward to a fun-filled day of bargain hunting.  Since we've moved to Miami (where it tends to rain a lot more than Stillwater) my mom jokes that when we come to visit, we are good luck because we bring the rain with us.  Well, outlet mall day was no exception, and no sooner had we rolled the stroller into the Gap, than the sky opened up and it poured!  Of course, I had not adequately prepared for the deluge of water, so we ended up putting bags over the kids legs and Nana was so kind as to purchase their new rain jackets.

 Friday was "Family Day" at Miss Cori's school.  She was expecting Nana to come and have lunch with her, but was surprised to see me as well.  Her mouth hanging open she says "Tia!"  It was so fun to have lunch with her, see her classroom, and get to spend some time where I could really talk with her without all the other chaos (aka Ryan and Kate running around) that we usually have. 

 Saturday was Ryan and Kate's very first OSU football game!  My parents have season tickets this year, so we got to pick a few games to go to (wish we could make them all!) and decided to take the kids to the Louisiana Lafayette game since we figured we'd get to see Bullet quite a bit!

 We had to do a bit of scrambling to find clothes for the cooler weather than we expected, but it turned out to be just about perfect.  Not too hot, not too cold.  Ryan and Kate were a little quiet at first, taking it all in.  But a few minutes into the game, they were up dancing, cheering, and waving the wheat!  They had a hot dog, pretzel, orange cotton candy, and a few M&M's - good thing the tickets were free or they might have broken the bank!

 Sunday we headed back to OKC for the State Fair!  This was our 3rd year to go to the fair, but it was especially fun since they were able to do more of the activities this year.  Kate and Ryan both wanted to ride ponies, and the little trail was so cute - what a special memory of their first pony ride!  Katie said she was riding Maximus (from Tangled) and Ryan said he was riding Bullet.

After lunch, the boys went home to do "boy things" and the girls went to the Disney On Ice princess show.  Katie put on her Cinderella dress for the show and was SO excited to see all the characters up close!  Nana got us some great seats and it was really a fun afternoon for the girls.  Makes me look forward to our future trip to Disney World!
