On Saturday we met Nana and Poppy at the State Fair. We got to go last year, as well, but not having to deal with nursing or 3 naps made the trip much easier this year. We got to do so many fun things and Ryan and Kate had a great time. Nana, the babies, and I visited the Butterfly Tent. It was SO cool! There were tons of beautiful butterflies to see and they were happy to land on us as well. Bubba was a little more cautious (as is his m.o.) and liked just looking at the butterflies. My little adventurer Katie was happy to have them land on her and just walked around like it was no big deal. Since this tour cost as much as a single ride, I would say it was definitely a great value.
I came for the food! Last year we looked all over for the fried Snickers booth, but didn't find it...so sad! So this year we were on a mission. Don't know if it was worth $6, but it was pretty tasty.

We also go to see the duck races. That was an exciting bit of free entertainment (well, almost free...Nana bought them duck whistles).
Probably the best part for the babies was the little AgraTown. They got to pet a bunny and a baby chick and see lots of other animals. There was also a little farm set up where they could plant a seed (in a sandbox), pick their apples and pumpkins, weigh them and get paid, and then "buy" a prize at the end. They absolutely LOVED running all over doing the little tasks. Maybe this means we are ready to go back to the science museum? We had a wonderful visit with Poppy and Nana and had such beautiful weather...such a fun family day at the fair!
