What a fun weekend! We kicked it all off on Friday night staying at Nana and Poppy's house and enjoying the last day of nice weather (although we are thankful for the much needed rain!) Saturday morning, mommy enjoyed a very special solo trip to Target with no kids, no make up, and no schedule, just me and my coffee. What a treat! Then it was on to dying Easter eggs. Ryan was very excited until he realized that he couldn't stick his hands in all of the dye cups - then it wasn't so exciting.
Ryan, Cousin Cori, and Katie ready to hunt Easter eggs in their Feaster finest. In years past, Matt's family found it difficult to work together everyone's schedule to get together for Easter, so we created our own holiday, Feaster (fake Easter). It has since become a favorite family tradition.
Matt found a good use for Ryan's stuffed turtle from his Easter basket.
Easter Sunday Ryan and Kate woke up to find what the Easter bunny had left in their baskets. Kate enjoyed wearing her new zebra jammies and zebra hair bow while sitting in her zebra chair and opening up her eggs. By the time of the indoor egg hunt on Sunday, Katie had figured out that there was actually stuff in her eggs. She ran into the living room, plopped down with the first egg she picked up, and started trying to get the wrapper off the candy. She didn't seem to mind that her brother and cousin were picking up all of the other eggs around her.
